It was a long ride up for us and although the weather’s never usually too kind at this time of year, after a couple of hours of rain it cleared up and the sun even shone for the weekend. So with almost 100 scooters on display at the Spa on Saturday and plenty of parts stalls to browse, what better way to round off the scooter rally season than at the LCGB/VFM BSRA event at Bridlington?
Friday night saw plenty of meeting and greeting in the pubs around town before scooter riders descended on the seafront Spa for a big party.
Saturday’s show saw the masses packed into the same venue to admire scooters of all kinds from the far corners of Britain; Vespas and Lambrettas, street racers to restorations, full-blown customs, chops and more.
The DTC owners’ display was pretty eye-catching, and the Rolling Stones themed Start Me Up custom Lambretta looked as resplendent as ever, the dislay at Brid being literally show-winning! Plenty of others caught our eye too, from 80s classics like Geno, Levi Stubbs and Sentinel, to new custom scooters such as Faith, Nexx Street Racer and the chop Tangerine Dream. There were plenty of classics too from a 40s American Cushman and Lambretta Model A, plus a B and NOS Model C with no miles on the clock! Two highly polished Vespa, one copper plated, also drew the crowds and hopefully these photos will show those of you who couldn’t make it what you missed out on. Maybe next time, hey?

Brid is my favourite rally of the year, and this year was no. 15 on the trot. It was also a first for me as I entered my very 1st custom show! With my Vespa tribute to the film ” Death Proof”. My scooter didnt win anything, but it was a great experience entering. And I had some positive feedback off punters and fellow entrants. Given that the scooter was built on a budget and cost less than £2000, I think it stood up well against some of the more expensive custom scooters on display! I want to make a few improvements over the winter and do some more custom shows in 2016.
Can’t wait to see it in 2016!
