We finally arrived at the rally site for this year’s EuroLambretta in Zakopane, Poland this afternoon. We set off from home last Friday and have ridden our old Lambretta scooters just over 1000 miles and through five countries… so far!
The site was bustling we we arrived and we were soon chatting with friends and fellow Lambretta riders from all over Europe.
Tomorrow (Saturday) you will find ScooterNova magazine helping out on the Lambretta Club Great Britain stall in the ‘market area’ of the rally. If any fellow riders need spares etc for their scooters then the LCGB will as always have the essential get you home stuff, along with their popular range of merchandise too.
The club will also have the latest edition of ScooterNova magazine for sale, as well as previous editions. We will have a small selection of magazine merchandise also available, along with offering subscriptions and renewals for all those who like to do this annually at the EuroLambretta rally, oh and did I mention we have some new, shiny stickers too?
So please feel free to come by and say hello tomorrow to us and the LCGB stall volunteers and have a great time in Poland!
This year’s EuroLambretta rally takes place in the Polish ski resort of Zakopane. As we usually do here at ScooterNova magazine, we’ll be packing our bags, loading our scooters and riding out to join our fellow scooter enthusiasts for another Continue reading →
Bonnie Scotland is calling us this weekend for the third BSRA National scooter rally of 2019. The Borders town of Kelso is another of our favourite rallies on the calendar, with the ride up featuring some fantastic roads to enjoy – if you get the chance, check out the A68, we love it – and the town itself always welcoming. Just £20 gets you a weekend pass to all entertainment and camping at the Showground there which also hosts the scooter dealers/traders. ScooterNova magazine will of course be trading and you’ll find us by the entrance to the hall alongside Crusader Promotions with their rally T-shirts and patches. We will have the brand new edition 13 with us, so if you want to know what it is like to own and ride a Lambretta Targa Twin 275cc, what kind of eye-catching Vespa hot-rod you can build for less than £1000, or be inspired by some amazing scooter touring, then edition 13 is perfect for you! We also have a stunning DDK painted Lambretta street racer, exclusive interviews with Ray Kemp of AF Rayspeed and John Horner of RW Horner Brothers, two GS Vespa, one built in Italy the other in Belgium (!) plus event and product reviews, news, an electric classic Lambretta, and all you need to know about powder-coating your scooter can all be found in edition 13. We will also have some back issues, merchandise and our new limited edition enamel pin badges. Plus signed copies of Sticky’s new ScooterBoys book too. Have a safe ride folks and we’ll see you up there!
**ScooterNova magazine is an independent publication, produced by scooterists for scooterists. It is published bi-monthly on quality paper, with credible articles written by fellow riders. 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the Bertone-designed Lambretta Grand Prix being launched. It also marks 50 years of Ray Kemp working with Lambrettas, although Ray possibly won’t thank us for reminding him of that fact. Continue reading →

Sadly, at some time during the night of Sunday 21 April, our friends at Cornwall Scooter Centre were burgled with six classic scooters part of the haul that thieves got away with.
In what the police have suggested looks like an organised gang were behind, the shop in Bodmin had six scooters stolen belonging to various customers. These were:
Vespa T5 Millennium in pearlescent white, limited edition number 41 of 400 made
1967 Vespa 150 Sprint with a brand new Malossi 225cc kit built on new Pinasco engine casings, new wiring loom and fuel tank that was a 10th Wedding Anniversary present
Lambretta SX150, white with a newly built RT195 with BGM Clubman exhaust
Spanish Lambretta Li white/purple, modified to take GP panelwork
Vespa P125X blue with new Polini 177 kit, black crash bars and several mirrors
Vespa 150 Super, white with dodgy floor and stand
At the time of writing it looks like the thieves also took cash from the shop’s safe but appear to have left tools and spare parts untouched.
Please keep your eyes and ears open for anything that may be offered for sale, whether complete scooters or parts and if you have any information of these scooter thieves please inform Bodmin Police or Cornwall Scooter Centre (01208 72966).
The same applies if you hear of anyone receiving stolen goods or trying to move them on. Remember, as much as we all despise such thieving scumbags, such activities are only attractive to them if they can subsequently sell their stolen goods onwards. These scooters need to become as ‘hot’ as possible and if there is one good thing to say about social media in the 21st century, it’s that we can all come together to make things like this happen.
We’re very much looking forward to riding to Scarborough Scooter Rally this weekend, what with Easter being so late this year. No matter how much you may ride your scooter throughout the year, nothing really compares to Continue reading →
