As we climb aboard our scooters and set off for Cleethorpes BSRA Scooter Rally on the east coast, there’s just time to let you know a couple of things to look out for on the rally campsite.
At the ScooterNova magazine stall we will not only have stock of the brand new edition 8 of the magazine, hot off the press, but we will have a selection of back editions to buy as well – just in case you’ve missed any so far.
If you’ve not heard by now, on the Saturday we shall be holding a Cheese & Wine Soireé at the stall to celebrate the launch of edition 8, to which you are all invited. Feel free to bring cheese, wine, smiles, sunshine and a few quid to buy yourself a copy of the magazine too!
You’ll find the stall at the far side of the campsite from the entrance, where we were last year along with the Vespa Club of Britain, Lambretta Club Britain, Crusader Promotions (rally patches, pins and T-shirts) and Lexham Insurance (BSRA signing-on).
At the stall we shall have our famous ‘peep hole’ photograph canvas, for all those after some photographic fun in the sun. We’ll also have Slacker pin-striping a scooter or two on the day, which is interesting to watch, there will be other scooters to check out too, feature bikes and one of our fellow competitors at the Dirt Diggers dirt-track racing event that ScooterNova competed in recently.
Scarborough Col will be our maître d’ for the day, while Sluice from York Scooter Club will provide some background music from his Lambretta’s onboard sound system.
We’ve also got 10 SIP ScooterShop caps to give away, ideal for protection against the sunshine! The first 10 people who visit the stall and tell us the name of the SIP custom scooter, built by the Butcher Garage that we featured exclusively in edition 7, will win a cap. Simples.
We’ve also been asked about these ScooterNova mugs, so we’ve had just a few dozen made to take to Cleethorpes (less than 50) and will be selling them on a first come, first served basis from our stall. They are ideal for a cup of tea, coffee, or indeed the prefect reusable container for drinking wine from! 😉
You’ll be able to buy the mugs individually, or in a deal for a ‘mag and a mug’ together for a tenner. Bargain.
We will also have a selection of T-shirts on the stall too, but for obvious reasons won’t be bringing hoodies with us!
I’m sure we’ve forgotten something, but as long as it’s not the tent for the weekend that will be fine. Ride safe and see you in the sun!
