Bridlington scooter rally – BSRA statement

We have just received the statement below from the LCGB and VFM:

“Hello People in Scooter World…

“After general debate at the British Scooter Rallies Association AGM (held at Bridlington), and further discussions between VFM* and the Lambretta Club of Great Britain Committee who are the organisers of the BSRA Trade & Custom Show /Scooter Rally, it has been decided that this event will continue in Bridlington for the forthcoming 2018 Rally Season. After which it will alternate yearly with a venue in the NorthWest.

“This will fulfil a geographical need for a National event in the Northwest, establish a change in the national calendar, and possibly make things a bit more fluid (potentially in the future), even allowing us to return to Bridlington in the Summer months.

“It has been the same team of Scooterists organising this event for 20+ years. We thank everyone for their support, and look forward to a big party at the Spa in 2018 to ring in the changes.”

“LCGB/VFM Scooter Collective”
So folks, we’ll see you in Brid in 2018 – 26-28 October!

ScooterNova Magazine at Mersea Island

With two great rallies so close to each other there’s no point in unpacking much, so we’re refuelling our scooters and heading down to sunny Essex this weekend for Mersea Island scooter rally.

Over the weekend we’ll be sharing stall space with the Lambretta Club of Great Britain, helping them out too. We will of course have the brand new edition 3 of ScooterNova magazine, which coincidentally – as we will be with the LCGB – has a massive 12 page feature on the 70th anniversary of Lambretta, together with a selection of rare and unseen photographs from the Innocenti archives in the 1960s. I can assure you, no other scooter magazine has access to such images.

Of course there is plenty more inside edition three too, from a rusty eye-catching Vespa built on a budget to Part 2 of the ‘touring to Moscow’ story. We have an exclusive on the Lambretta Siluro record breaker which was recently recommissioned for Goodwood, and we pit a luxury vintage Germany scooter against an Italian rival to see what was the best electric start machine from the 1950s. There is a gorgeous Vespa GS that you can’t help but admire and we are also proud to have yet another exclusive feature on a custom scooter that deservedly won a number of trophies at the Isle of Wight last week, Discworld. Put simply, ScooterNova is 100 pages of quality magazine with credible articles throughout and selective advertising!

Speaking of the IOW, our ‘peep hole’ photograph head shot concept went down a storm on the rally site at Smallbrook stadium, and Colchester DVLC have invited us to bring it along to Mersea Island too, so all those who missed out last weekend will get a chance to join in the fun in Essex! (**note to parents, PLEASE don’t let you kids climb on or swing from the framework, because it damages it and we can’t afford to be replacing it on a regular basis – thank you!).

So come along and say hello over the weekend, feel free to browse through a magazine (we’ll have all three issues with us) to see what the fuss is about if you’ve not yet seen ScooterNova for yourself, and have a safe ride!

ScooterNova issue 2 – good things come to those that wait…

001_Cover_issue 2

While two months might seem to last forever to some people, here at ScooterNova it’s simply flown by!

The wait will soon be over however, with the second edition of the new ScooterNova scooter magazine being finished as we speak, and destined to end up on the printing press at the end of next week.

Issue 2 (July/August 2017) is due to be published at the end of June, and if you want to be one of the first to receive a copy and you’re not already a subscriber, then you can sign up online here.

You can also purchase individual copies of issue 1 and 2 online as well, from the same place.

We will be celebrating the launch of issue 2 of ScooterNova magazine at Cleethorpes BSRA National Scooter rally on the 8 July 2017, at our stall on the campsite so please do come along to see if we’ve a glass of something to quaff, or at least a free sticker to give away with every purchase!
ScooterNova stockists should have the magazine on shelves a few days after it is published, so check out your local retailer here (new stockists being added regularly, so please check back often.

As we’ve said previously, the response to issue 1 has been overwhelming, with a great number of scooterists keen to once again buy a scooter magazine that’s written by genuine scooter enthusiasts like themselves. We’ve spent our time since issue 1 was launched, riding around the UK and Europe to different events, checking out scooters for articles, listening to readers’ comments, and of course enjoying clocking up plenty of miles in the saddle.

As for content in issue 2, well we can promise you something Lambretta, something Vespa, a 3-wheeler, a German scooter (from the west side this time), something well-engineered, a few good rides, and part one of an amazing scooter riding adventure a couple from the UK undertook last summer. As well as a few others things too.
See you in Cleethorpes!
