Finally best wishes to Steve Foster who announced his retirement from VFM in the near future to spend more time riding his scooter amongst other things. Thanks Steve for everything you’ve done mate. Ride safe and see you on the road soon!
As stated in the latest edition of ScooterNova magazine itself, to compliment the review of the edition 215 that has just been published we have added this brief online gallery. With most of the 100 scooters entered exhibited on the day there simply wasn’t the space in the magazine to show them all, so here are some of the photos we couldn’t fit in to the pages. You’ll find more images on the SLUK website too. As with all the running around and organising of the event on the day neither Iggy nor myself actually managed to capture every single scooter there on film (or rather the digital equivalent!). Thanks again to all those who exhibited scooters, attended the event and helped out with its smooth running. The feedback from exhibitors, visitors and traders alike is that this event was up there with the best of them and everyone had a great day out. Sorted.
The brand new edition of ScooterNova magazine is due to hit the streets right in time for the Isle of Wight Scooter Rally this August Bank Holiday weekend. We’ll be riding down and plotting up on the official rally campsite at Smallbrook Stadium, will you be joining us? Edition 15 of course features the amazing
Well done to the Lincoln & Newark Scooter Collective for putting on a lovely scooter-only rally. They had found a nice camping spot and we were so lucky with the weather this weekend.
It was great to be part of the winning pub quiz team on Friday night with Andy, Nigel and some of the Flying 8 Balls SC. The cash prize made it a cheap night for us when we put the prize money behind the bar! A great start to a cracking weekend.
We had a busy Saturday on the ScooterNova magazine stall as did JB Fabrications on theirs – cheers for the tool and the t-shirts – and JG Scooters who provided a mobile dyno for rally-goers to torture their scooters on. The band on Saturday evening were refreshingly entertaining and it was a fun night of too much talking and laughing until suddenly it was Sunday and time for the ride home.

This weekend saw the doors open for ScooterExpo, an event that had been eight months in the planning, although in my mind for a fair bit longer than that. While I may have first considered the concept of a new scooter event prior to launching ScooterNova magazine back in 2017, it couldn’t have happened without the help of my friend Iggy at ScooterLab UK. After sharing ideas of an event organised by the both of us, we sat down at the end of 2018 to discuss the potential, various suggestions, and after he came up with the venue, ScooterExpo was born – the first joint event by ScooterNova magazine and SLUK.
This Sunday will see our new joint ScooterLab/ScooterNova show arrive at the hallowed halls of Alfreton Leisure Centre, a venue steeped in scootering history. Home of the iconic NSRA Trade & Custom shows from 1989-1991. And have we got a great line up for you!
We’d like to thank our sponsors for showing faith in us, Lexham Insurance (check out their stand for a chance to win a year’s free insurance) and Putoline Lubricants (visit their stand to get all your questions about oils, eprotectors and octane boosters answered). Of course, we’d also like to thank all the other exhibitors and traders for jumping on board. We’d also like to thank all the showgoers who have helped to create a buzz about the event before it has even happened. We hope you all come along and have a great day out.
It’s time for us to load our scooters for the ride to the north coast of Wales for the fifth National Scooter Rally of 2019. Some cracking roads whichever direction you ride from, it’s always great to be beside the seaside.
ScooterNova will be trading all day on Saturday at Venue Cymru, where we’ll have the latest magazine – Edition 14 – as well as some quality merchandise for your delight! This will include our new range of ‘Addicted to 2-Stroke’ t-shirts as well as Sticky’s Scooterboys book.
Ride safe, see you there!
