In chronological order, at the Modrapheniacs Rally in Sandford, Dorset from 1-3 March you will find ScooterNova magazine at the South West Scooter Clubs stall on the Saturday with the other traders inside the venue. Not only will we have the latest edition 12 of ScooterNova magazine, but there will be some new SWSC merchandise also available.

On Sunday 3 March at Wicksteed Park Parts Fair, our friends at Scootopia will be selling the new ScooterNova magazine from their stall. As well as the latest edition of our publication, Scootopia also promise to have around 450 of their own products available and are encouraging people to pre-order to avoid disappointment. They are also offering a deal on certain Michelin tyres on the day and you can find out more on the Scootopia blog.

Our friends at Crusader Promotions will also have copies of the new ScooterNova magazine at Wicksteed, as well as a selection of scooter rally merchandise including the 2019 official BSRA T-shirt and patch.

Winter Warmers from ScooterNova

ScooterNova Hoodie

With the weather in the UK taking a sudden drop, we thought it timely to remind you of our winter-warming hoodies and regular tops, which are part of our merchandise range.

Available in both ladies and gents cuts with print on the front and rear, we have different types on the shop. You can go for the regular pull-over hooded top with pouch pocket, or the zip up hoodie with two pockets. The final version is a zip-up with no hood, which is the one you may like to wear while riding your scooter as there is no hood to stick out the back of your coat and soak up the rain!

You can find our ScooterNova tops (with and without hoods) at our secure online shop now, so point your browser here.

We may also have some on our stall at rallies and events throughout the year, but of course that won’t help you now. ;-)
Stay safe and stay warm folks.

New CNC parts shop launched

KR Automation is a company whose work I first discovered some years ago when I was sent photographs of a rather tasty Vespa PX street racer from Germany. This was powered by an engine that had been CNC machined as part of the owner’s university study work. Nice!

Fast forward to 2019 and these talents have also been applied to  Continue reading

Birth of an engine

Lambretta engine by Uni-Auto

It’s not often you get to see the process involved in the production of a cast aluminium engine casing, but Uni-Auto of India have kindly shared this video showing the process.

The tooling involved

Uni-Auto have recently begun production of new 200cc Lambretta engine casings featuring many updated features, as seen in the latest edition 11 of ScooterNova magazine.

The first stage of the finished product.

The video below shows the cleaning of the tooling from the previous casting, pouring in of molten metal and the pressure casting process, before the ‘finished’ casing is extracted.
Pretty interesting to watch we think, and hope you do too. Hopefully they will make further videos showing the machining involved at the next stage of production.
